Music Voyager: Israel Edition!
The popular PBS show Music Voyager travels to Israel for this multi-part series to discover its music, both ancient and new, and they really got all the highlights! The show features, in both performances and interviews, Idan Raichel, Yemen Blues, Cabra Casey, Cape Verdean diva Mayra Andrade, Ehud Banai, Karolina, Kutiman, Israeli-Arab singer Mira Awad, and surf-rock band Boom Pam.
Music Voyager is an ambitious and expansive project which seeks to bring the music from every corner of the world to every corner of the world. Host Jacob Edgar travels the globe hunting for the best songs the world has to offer. While the show airs on PBS in the United States, its reach is truly massive- broadcasting to over 140 countries in the world! Music Voyager recently shot a number of episodes highlighting Israeli artists from the Negev to the rocking clubs of Tel Aviv.
MUSIC VOYAGER takes a pilgrimage to Israel, an epicenter of human history and religion. We travel from the Negev Desert and the Red Sea in the south to the fertile landscape of the north. Joined by some of the country’s biggest musical stars we explore the ancient cobblestone streets of Jerusalem and Jaffa as well as the hip nightclubs and cutting-edge sounds of the contemporary Israeli music. Its a magical musical journey through time.
