Carole King was born in February of 1942 and is currently 73 years old. She is an extremely prolific and successful composer and songwriter, and she is also a well-known singer. Recognized as one of the best songwriters in history, King has slowed down a little in the last decade. Still, she continues to do what she does best, even while in her 70’s.
Naturally, she already has a hall of fame career, and she also has four Grammy Awards to her name. She has not just had a hall of fame career, but she has been inducted into the Hall of Fame for songwriters and for Rock n’ Roll, so that’s twice!
Her career has spanned decades, as she got started in the 1960’s. It was in the 1970’s when she also focused on a career as a singer and left her mark there, too. Many of the hits she wrote were co-written with her husband and other people throughout the years as well.
Her four Grammy Awards all came from the album ‘Tapestry,’ which was a huge success. Carole King continued to release albums throughout the 1970’s, most of them certifying gold and some reaching up into the top 10. She was a star by then for sure.
Carole King has done some very interesting things outside the normal release of albums and writing songs. As a composer, she has written theme songs for movies, like Care Bears, which was released in 1985. She branched out considerably in the 1980’s as a matter of fact.
Her daughter is also a songwriter, and she has collaborated with her, like with the Christmas album they both put out in 2011. She has also acted in television shows and movies as well throughout her career.
